“Religious extremism and terrorism-a threat to our country”

On December 7, 2018, master’s degree, teacher of history and social science Alikhanova Raikhan Erkhanovna held an extracurricular event on social science in the group 1vt1 on the theme “Religious extremism and terrorism-a threat to our country”

Purpose: to give students an idea of the terms of extremism, terrorism, radicalism, the legal basis of the fight against terrorism in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the state of the modern situation. Carrying out preventive measures related to modern life, explaining the reasons for the spread of extremism and terrorism, types of counteraction to it. To expand the previous knowledge of students, to independently master the subject, free to Express their thoughts, to think critically, develop the skills of analysis.

During the event, the methods and techniques of working with groups of “Historians”, “Religious Scholars”, “Politicians”, the creation of questions – answers/situations, the definition of solutions, the development of specific arguments were implemented.

At the time of “Brainstorming” was shown the video “Welcome to Kazakhstan!”, which increases cognitive interest. It surprisingly describes the vast land of our country. We cannot deny that many countries are interested in our land. At the time of detection of the subjects were shown excerpts from the film “Өмірзая”, filmed for the special order of akimat of Atyrau region.

Also in the creative work of the group “Historians”, “Religious scholars”, “Politicians” looking for answers to the question that religious extremism and terrorism is dangerous for the country, what to do to protect against it. “Historians” said that the terrorism originated in 44 BC since the assassination of Julius Caesar, and showed their answers on the poster, “Religious scholars” have made a brochure highlighting what religion is forbidden in our country that Abu Hanifa is the view that fits our mentality and national traditions. “Politicians” showed in their videos that young people who do not have religious literacy, becomes a “doll”.

The culmination of the event was a test work, which revealed the degree of conviction of our youth. In the final part of the event, the torch of the relay was lit.

Students learned about religious extremism on their own, learned about extremism and terrorism and supported each other in working with the group, feeling emotional responsibility, respect for the safety of life, human qualities in a peaceful spirit and, with the Help of “torch relay” answered the question “What should be done to prevent it? ”

As a result, with the help of a teacher, students independently mastered the lessons.
