On December 7, 2018, the teacher of cultural studies, Nurmukhanova Venera Alimbaevna, conducted an open lesson with students of group 2zh2 on the theme: “Turkic culture in the Middle Ages”.
On the lesson, the teacher set such tasks as acquaintance with literature and culture, the religion of the ancient Turks, give an idea of the Turkic tribes living in Kazakhstan, improve students’ knowledge, teach them to generalize their own thoughts, expand their worldview, develop skills and abilities with respect relate to the achievements of world civilization and culture, instill a sense of love for their native land, arouse interest in the subject.
Students learned about the ancient history of the Turkic peoples inhabiting Central Asia and Kazakhstan on the basis of studying the characteristics of their culture that emerged in the Middle Ages, about its role in world culture, about the construction and development of medieval cities, architectural structures, about the development of material and spiritual culture, science and religion in the Medieval period.
The historical monuments of this period were cited as an example: Orkhon-Yenisei inscriptions, monuments, the book “Korkyt-ata”, the valuable Turkic heritage “Oguz-name”, “Dictionary of the Turkic languages” by M. Kashgari, encyclopedic work by Balasagun “Ottts bіlіk”, “ Aghizyat syyi ”by Ahmet Iughineki, heritage of Al-Farabi,“ Diuani hikmet ”by A. Yassawi.
To assimilate the micro-data, students performed paired tasks, creative works about the life and activities of Mahmud Kashgari, Yusuf Balasaguni, Ahmed Iougineki, Abu Nasyr Al-Farabi, and prepared presentations. Appropriate video content was used. The following issues were discussed by the “JIGSO” method: “Orkhon-Yenisei monuments”, “The book“ Korkyt-ata ”,“ Oguz-name ”,“ Divani Hikmet ”. At the stage of consolidation, students were particularly interested in the techniques: “Find the individual”, “Historical dictation”, the test “Identification”, “Two truths, one lie”. Feedback – reflection was carried out on the strategy “Airplane”. Cleverly used interactive methods and techniques allowed Venus Alimbaevna to achieve the goal of the lesson.
Working out the total of lesson, the teacher marked that there is an International Organization of Turkic Culture (ТЮРКСОЙ), uniting Turkic-speaking countries, the main goal of which is positioning “cooperation between Turkic peoples for the preservation, development and transfer to future generations of common material and cultural monuments of Turkic peoples”, whose activities students also must be familiar.
